Dramatic photos of a collapsing roadside between the old Largs road and Greenock Cut shows it is a public safety issue, a councillor has warned.
The old Largs road, which links Largs to Greenock, is a popular route for cyclists, joggers and walkers, but Inverclyde councillor James Daisley has highlighted its dangerous nature and has shared images showing that it has partially collapsed in places.
Cllr Daisley said: "I have asked Inverclyde Council for an update on the collapsing roadside between Old Largs Road and Greenock Cut.
"[It is] ot only a public safety issue, but will stop access to Greenock Cut Visitors Centre, and local businesses, where this is currently the only way to access them by road.
"There needs to be a repair and a permanent solution implemented as the continual patching of the surface is not working , as you can see from the images."

An Inverclyde Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the issue and working with partners who maintain elements of the road to find a suitable solution.”
