This happy looking bunch of court jesters provided some right royal entertainment at a medieval banquet held in Forehill Primary School in May 2004. The pupils also got treated to a visit to Stirling Castle.
Some of South Ayrshire’s most talented young artists gathered at the Maclaurin Galleries in May 2004 for the launch of their Art Exhibition. Sarah Muirhead, 16, of Wellington School in Ayr was the winner of the Maclaurin Award, with her prizewinning sculpture, Dreaming.
Members of a local athletics club held a special fun run in May 2004. Troon Tortoises AC held the run on the town promenade, and also staged a 10 kilometre run.
A charity football match between the Taj Restaurant in Prestwick and King World Travel saw £691 raised for Ayr Action for Mental Health in May 2004. A new initiative to encourage the people of Kincaidston to eat healthily was launched in May 2004. Locals hoped a Food Co-op would be established, giving access to low cost fruit and vegetables.
Crosshill Primary School Summer Fair proved a big hit in 2004, with these pupils joining in a rendition of the Hat Dance.
