The Vik Battle against rubbish! 
A cute new mascot is hitting the streets of Largs in a bid to clear rubbish off our streets in a thought-provoking and fun way for youngsters ... meet Vik the Viking.
The campaign is the brainchild of June Gowland, a volunteer worker at the Largs Information Bureau, who has obtained local sponsorship and help for the project after North Ayrshire Council refused to help unless the project was regional wide.
A special community garden in West Kilbride is to be named after the late vet Charlie Garratt after he was a leading light in the building of the project.
