LARGS Thistle have been given the go ahead to install floodlights at Barrfields Park.
The installation of the lights will enable midweek games and allow training on the pitch.
The community club, who also run an under 20s development squad on Friday evenings in the west of Scotland, would also be able to play Barrfields Park, while the ground is also used regularly by various youth sides.
It will also assist Largs Thistle in obtaining an SFA Licence and allow them to enter the Scottish Cup in future.
The floodlights can be operational on Monday to Sunday from approximately 5 to 9pm during the darker months.
For football fixtures on a Saturday afternoon the lighting will be required earlier on winter days where it is dull and early dark.
Delighted club president Ryan Scott said: "We would ideally like to get the floodlights up as soon as we possibly can but we are still looking for funding streams to help us.
"We really need this upgrade so I am delighted we have received planning permission to make this happen.
"It is a step in the right direction for us to get an SFA licence and for the club to move forward."
Largs Community Council, who are planning consultees, stated that they had no objections.
