A BUSY road in Largs was closed this morning by 999 crews after a car fire.
Firefighters were called to the Haylie Brae at the A760 at around 7.40am on Wednesday, April 10, to reports of a vehicle on fire.
It has been reported that crews closed the road for a few hours and diverted the traffic through Fairlie.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed there were no casualties and made the area safe before leaving the scene.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 7.40am on Wednesday, 10 April to reports of a vehicle fire in Largs.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the town's A760, where firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
"There were no casualties."
The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed but Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
