This Morning chef Phil Vickery revealed during the recent eatBute festival that he tried out a seaweed bath before taking part in a live tv cookery demonstration.
The television personality was on hand to help launch the food festival at Mount Stuart which promoted local produce including a local company called "Just Seaweed".
"News" reporter Calum Corral and advertising executive Jane Tognini were both in attendance at the eatBute festival and took part in the live cooking demonstration which will feature on the primetime ITV morning show.
Speaking to the "News", Phil said: "I decided to dabble around a bit with the seaweed I got two big bagfulls so I could enjoy a bath, and it turned a brilliant green colour. I then put some cold water in, and it is apparently very good for the skin, and for your upper body, so it was something a bit different!" Indeed, the famous chef then added seaweed to a number of prepared dishes for visitors to try out during the demonstration within the plush kitchen area at Mount Stuart House.
In front of a large audience, Phil used a number of other products including sleeping warrior sausages, langoustines, sea noodles, and various beef and lamb produce which will be showcased on an upcoming edition of "This Morning" in late October.
The live cookery demonstrations are taking place in a number of seaside locations including the isle of Anglesey and Gibralter.
The eatBute festival was officially opened by television presenter Stephen Jardine, and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
Speaking at the official opening, Stephen said: "To come here and see what has managed to be achieved with local producers is magnificent. I live in Edinburgh and the choices are very limited because of the power of the supermarkets. Here you have something very special - you have producers who have managed to survive and prosper using great local food - everything you eat here has been grown raised and cultivated in the fields around about us and out in the sea, and that is something in the day and age of supermarkets, and big brands, that we should be intensely proud of.
