The cast of Largs Amateur Operatic’s next show, Half a Sixpence, have been put through their paces ahead of the perfomance later on this month.
“Half a Sixpence”, based on the novel “Kipps” by H.G.Wells is a very lively “rags to riches” story of a hard -working shop assistant, Kipps who inherits a small fortune and the resulting dilemmas that money can bring.
The show pokes a bit of fun at the class system in late Victorian Britain and is sure to please theatre goers who enjoy a lighthearted evening with a happy ending!
The show contains several upbeat musical numbers such as the well-known “Flash, Bang, Wallop!”, “Money to Burn”, “A Proper Gentleman”, and “If the Rain’s Got to Fall” Interestingly, “Half a Sixpence” has never been performed by any of the local Theatre groups in the Barrfields before and the group hope audiences will agree that it is long overdue!
The main cast features Ben Gilmartin, Connor Kelly, Allan Milligan, David McGarvey, Jennifer Kyle and Morag Robertson.
“Half a Sixpence” is running from Wednesday 25th March until Saturday 28th March at 7:30 pm in the Barrfields Theatre.
