A BBC television drama based on the true story of author James Herriot was filmed on location at the grounds of Hunterston Castle earlier this year.
The production told the story of the Young James character while he was a student at the Glasgow Veterinary College in the 1930s.
The drama 'Young James Herriot", serialised this week, drew on unprecedented exclusive access to an astonishing archive from veterinary surgeon Alf Wight, who wrote under the pseudonym James Herriot. Herriot would become one of Britain's best-loved authors and an inspiration for films and the long-running TV series, 'All Creatures Great And Small.' The programme is still available for viewing at BBC's iplayer until the end of this week.
