Skelmorlie Curling Club was one of two clubs from Inverclyde to represent Scotland in the annual UK Four Nations Curling Trophy.

The Trophy was won in the hotly contested competition at Fenton's Rink in Kent - the first time that the English Curling Association has been able to host the competition in England for twenty years The Skelmorlie representatives played their part in bringing the trophy back to Scotland.

Five Skelmorlie players played their part in the magnificent squad of 19 - James Carswell, John McDermott, Jim Morrison Catriona Cooper and Stewart Sutherland.

James said: "It was a very good event and the first time it has been played on English soil - or ice - for a very long time and it was surprisingly good. The trophy was down there and we brought it back to Scotland - its rightful home. The team was made up of clubs from Inverclyde, Gourock and Stirling. Thanks to John McDermott who is not a member of Skelmorlie Curling Club but came and joined us."
