Commenting, Kenneth Gibson MSP said: "It is no secret that North Ayrshire suffers from high levels of unemployment "The Scottish Government is committed to tackling unemployment in North Ayrshire and I have invited a cross-section of representatives from public and private enterprise, alongside voluntary organisation and educational institutions, to highlight options and opportunities available to people young and not so young who may be unemployed, at school, college or simply looking to change career.

"I have been heartened by the enthusiasm and support shown by the more than 60 national, Ayrshire and local organisations that have already confirmed their participation, with staff, exhibition stands and information. Many more are expected and I believe that together we will make a difference to the employment prospects of people in North Ayrshire.

"I would encourage anyone in North Ayrshire who is seeking employment, training education or volunteering opportunities to come along." The North Ayrshire Employment Fayre will take place on Monday 4 February at Ardrossan Civic Centre, Glasgow Street, from 9am-1pm.
