A well known Skelmorlie couple are a great example of how true love can span the decades.
Skelmorlie's Iain and Betty Jackson celebrated 60 great years of marriage on Thursday 31 March with a special celebration in Largs, but are kept young at heart by a large family.
Proud son Campbell said: "In an age of ever changing values Iain and Betty are a great example of how true love lasts the test of time.
"It just goes to show how true love lasts the test of time. They were married in 1956 and have a family of five who in turn have provided Iain and Betty with loving grandchildren and these grand children now have given them great grandchildren."
Iain and Betty are well known faces in the village, Iain (Skipper) led the Scout troop over several years and was also president and then secretary of the local bowling club. Betty was the local girl guide leader for quite a time and worked in the local nursery touching the hearts of many of the local kids.
Both celebrated a lovely evening in Lounge restaurant in Largs with their close family members across four generations.
It is obvious talking to Iain and Betty about all the years they have spent together and the love they share that it is not only diamonds that last forever.
Asked about the secret to long marriage, Iain said: "Hard work, lots of love, patience, a great family and also a willingness to listen to each other no matter the problem if any."
