An injury to Ciaran Friel which rendered him unconscious on the pitch resulted in the match between Largs Thistle and Winton Rovers having to be abandoned on Wednesday evening with the score at 1-0 to Largs.
Ciaran sustained a head and ankle injury, and was given immediate assistance from Thistle physio Morag Souttar, while the club waited for an ambulance to arrive in the bitter cold temperatures.
As Ciaran received treatment from paramedics, both managers were called together to discuss the way forward, and the referee decided upon calling the match off.
Ciaran took to Facebook later in the evening at 11.30pm to say: "I would just like to say thanks to everyone for their well wishes! Unfortunately my season is now over but I'm sure the boys can do the business and get us promotion, starting with Cumnock on Monday!
"Massive thanks to everyone that assisted when I was unconscious."
