Skelmorlie Attic Players performance at the Inverclyde District One Act Play Festival which was held at Greenock’s Beacon Arts Centre recently.
The amateur dramatics group performed ‘Walter’ by Murray Schisgal for the Scottish Community Drama Association competition.
The show was directed by Stewart Phillips with the roles of Laura, Norbe and Walter being played by Donna Laing, William Clark-Ferguson and Richard Laing. Stage management was by Shona Phillips and production design was by Richard Laing assisted by Karen Wylie. All the actors and back stage team were Skelmorlie based, with exception of William, who is Largs based.
Their performance was very well received by the audience and more importantly by Mr Ronnie Mackie, the competition adjudicator, and they were awarded the Wallace Bennett Trophy as competition runner up, and the additional prize of the prestigious R.K.M. Richardson trophy for technical achievement.
As runners-up, they will join competition winners Greenock Players in the SCDA Western Division final which will take place at the Fullarton Theatre in Castle Douglas from 22nd-24th March.
