This year's Gillian Saltire Appeal charity fundraising swim has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation.
However, organisers are hoping that the 15th swim between Cumbrae and Largs, will go ahead in September 2021.
A charity spokesperson said: "Unfortunately we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's swim.
"We had started to make plans at the start of the year, however as a result of Covid-19 we have decided to cancel.
"Months of planning goes into making the swim a success, and we simply do not know what the government guidelines will be come September.
"This would of been the 15th Anniversary of the swim, however we hope to be back in 2021."
The Largs based Saltire Appeal charity raises funds for holiday accommodation in Largs for people recovering from cancer and links in with Maggies Centres in Glasgow.
