The rate of covid-19 cases in Largs has reduced in the last three weeks, however Fairlie and West Kilbride currently have among the highest rates in North Ayrshire.

Largs North has seen a decrease in its number of cases, with between one and four confirmed from October 26 to November 1, a case rate of between 50 and 74 per 100,000 of the population.

This is in comparison to a rate of more than 100 between October 6 and 12, where it had one of the highest rates in North Ayrshire.

Largs South has also seen a reduction in its rate of cases, with zero between October 26 and November 1, compared to between one and four earlier in the month.

This gives a case rate in the area of less than 15 per 100,000, compared to 50 to 74 three weeks earlier.

In comparison to the rest of the town, Largs Central and Cumbrae has had an increase in its case rate, from between 30 and 49 to between 75 and 99.

Fairlie and the surrounding area continues to have one of the highest case rates in the area, with between one and four cases confirmed, a rate of over 100 per 100,000 of the population.

West Kilbride and Seamill has seen an increase in its number of cases, with seven recorded during the same time period.

This has led to a case rate of more than 100 per 100,000, in comparison to earlier in October when the rate was between 15 and 29.

Skelmorlie and the surrounding area has one of the lowest rates in North Ayrshire, with between one and four cases reported and a rate of between 50 and 74.

Between October 26 and November 1, 204 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in North Ayrshire, a rate of 151 per 100,000 of the population.

This is an increase on the number three weeks prior, when 189 confirmed cases were recorded between October 6 and 12, a rate of just over 140 per 100,000 of the population.
