The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued a flood warning for Ayrshire.

Heavy rains are expected in the coming days, and the organisation is urging residents to be aware.

SEPA said: "Heavy showers are expected to develop across the area on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

"The worst of the showers are expected to be in the eastern part of the area with downpours likely to cause disruption due to flooding from surface water and small watercourses.

"A further spell of very wet weather is likely on Wednesday which may lead to flooding from larger rivers.

"Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

"Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188."
