TWO people were taken to hospital after a horror road collision on the A78 near the Vikingar on Saturday evening.
The crash, which involved two cars, took place on Greenock Road in Largs shortly after 10.45pm.
A man, 33, and a woman, 30, from each vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment following the smash.
A police spokesperson added: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The incident happened close to the junction with Brisbane Street in Largs.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.48pm on Saturday to reports of a road traffic collision at Brisbane Street, Largs.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene of a two car collision which crews made safe before leaving."
