THERE was a deluge of enquiries concerning the former Ministry of Defence's NATO Base which was put up for sale this week in the year 2000.
Largs Yacht Haven had not ruled out making a move for the site while other yachting organisations were also showing an interest.
Rumours circulated that the area could be used to create a marina village while local building firm RDK Construction, who were in the process of launching a bid to construct a garden centre north of the site, also enquired about the availability of the derelict base.

Finally Largs Players were taking bookings for their annual pantomime, 'Aladdin' to be staged in Barrfields Pavilion Theatre and Largs Thistle impressed with a 4-1 win at Barrfields over Sunnybank, with former Morton star Michael Hart scoring the pick of the goals.
