BUZZWORKS boss Kenny Blair says it was a 'difficult decision' to increase prices at the group’s restaurants across Ayrshire – including Scotts in Largs.
The firm's managing director says increased costs around staffing, energy bills and supply chain issues forced the hike.
He said: “Everyone is experiencing an increase in the prices of things they buy, then there are VAT rates and higher energy bills.
“We aren’t immune from the pressures that everyone is feeling right now. I wish I didn’t have to say it, but prices will be increasing in the coming weeks.
“This wasn’t an easy decision because we pride ourselves on employing the best people, who prepare and serve the finest local ingredients. We just don’t want to cut corners.”
Mr Blair has hailed the restaurants' regulars for their support during the pandemic - and says he is ready to welcome them through the doors again this summer.
He said: “I want to thank all of our loyal customers for continuing to support us, especially over the last few years when things have been challenging to say the least.
“We are so proud of our teams for continuing to serve people safely throughout the pandemic, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more customers this summer.”
To help combat the price rise, the company's benefits card will earn customers 10 reward points for every £1 spent in any of its venues until the end of June.
