A woman has been arrested after a car crashed into the sea.
Police and ambulance attended the dramatic scene near to the RNLI Lifeboat Station in Largs.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Shortly before midnight on July 3, concern was raised for a woman who was missing from the Wemyss Bay area.
"Officers carried out enquiries in the local area and she was traced in Largs, where her Mercedes car had gone into the water near to the pier.
"She did not require hospital treatment.
“Following this incident, the woman was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. A report has been forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
