THE official launch of a 'Millport Memories' book is taking place in the Garrison on Thursday at 3pm.
Author Edwin Deas has interviewed 32 people who have been visiting Millport or the Isle of Cumbrae for most of their lives for work or pleasure for the work.
Edwin, who runs a regular radio show on the island's community station, Millport Radio, said: "I always knew I was obsessed with the place but is was fantastic to find others, most of whom I did not know in advance, to share their memories and thoughts and reasons why they too love it so much.
"It should make interesting reading for anyone with an affection for Millport.
"I would like to invite anyone and everyone to drop by and meet me and hopefully some of the other contributors. A fun time is guaranteed, as well as some stories of times spent on the island."
The book in print form, signed if people would like, will be available for purchase at a special launch price of £6.
