The popular Millport Emergency Services Day will not run today following the Queen's passing. 

The event, which sees emergency organisations from across the country descend on the island, will not be rescheduled. 

A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, we have to announce that the event due to take place on Sunday is now cancelled. 

"I'm sure everyone will agree that it is the correct decision at this time.

"There are no plans to reschedule the event for this year due to funding however, we will be sure to start on planning for next year. 

"All of our committee are deeply saddened by the Death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and wish to convey our condolences to the Royal Family and beyond at this sad time."
