A LARGS comedienne is finally set for her debut solo show – almost three years after it was cancelled by the pandemic.
Natalie Bryce will take to the stage as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival in March, after her original gig in 2020 was claimed by coronavirus
The funny girl says she is over the moon to get her chance to step into the spotlight.
She said: "I was absolutely gutted when the original show didn’t go ahead.
“Unfortunately the venue I was due to appear at last time is not running shows any more, so I had to find a new one.
“I will now play in Blackfriars in the Merchant City, which holds 110 people, so it will be both my biggest ever crowd and my first solo performance.
“It’s a proper comedy venue - when I saw it had reopened after the pandemic I was so excited and knew I had to book it.”
Natalie says that her planned show has completely changed, with a whole different world to talk about nearly three years on.
She explained: “A lot of the references I had in the original show are out of date, whether that’s about where we live or our way of life.
“The show is about 50 minutes long. It's just me and my microphone trying to make people laugh and give them a fun time.
“The longest gig I’ve ever done so far is 25 minutes so this will be a big step up for me but hopefully I can embrace it and put on a good show.”
Natalie recently relocated to the south of England earlier this year to try and drive her career forward.
She said: “I’ve secured a lot of gigs down here and am hoping to take my show to the Brighton Fringe, but I wanted Glasgow to be the first.
“My accent was never part of my comedy, but in England it adds to the attraction I think.
“It feels like there’s more opportunities down here, but I always love coming back to Scotland and especially Largs whenever I can.”
Natalie’s show Pantomime Prince will take place on March 25 at 4pm in Blackfriars Pub. Tickets are available from www.glasgowcomedyfestival.com/events/pantomime-prince/
