West Kilbride swimmer Andy Donaldson admits it is a “huge honour” to come sixth in the WOWSA Man of the Year vote.
The open-water swimmer, who is taking on a mammoth charity challenge to swim seven of the world’s hardest channels, was nominated in the World Open Water Swimming Association awards.
Andy said: “For me, it was a huge honour to be put forward and to feature alongside such wonderful and dedicated swimmers who continue to drive and progress our sport.
“Congratulations to everyone involved, winners and nominees. To me you are all huge inspirations.
“To everyone who voted and got behind this, thank you for taking the time and for all of your support.”
The swimmer is getting set for his next challenge in his Oceans Seven swim, which he hopes will raise £100,000 for mental health charities.
