THE two-person team behind a busy Largs hairdressers have become the latest business figures in town to throw their weight behind the Largs Viking Festival.

Karolan Donnell and Lynn Lynch from Coast hair salon in Aitken Street say the Viking Festival is a 'cut above' the competition.

Lynn and Karolyn are happy to support the festival coming this Autumn.

Living in the town, both ladies agreed that the festival and food fayre brought a great buzz to the town.

Both intend to visit the various festival events over the nine days. They encourage any local business to also support the festival.

This year's big Norse showcase takes places from September 2-10.

A festival spokesperson said: "We will be bringing you all our festival favourites such as the opening parade and ceremony, live entertainment, fringe events, food and craft market, air displays, axe throwing, full Viking village and the ever popular Festival of Fire, with fire procession.

"As well as the Viking skirmish, burning of the long boat, entertainment, and ending in a fabulous firework display."
