Largs Thistle legend George Wall writes for the News about football matters local, national and international...
On Saturday, Scotland take on Norway in Oslo in the Euro Qualifiers; a hard task but they need to go into the game with confidence. Yes, Norway have big players, particularly Erling Haaland, but full concentration by the defence will go a long way.
Haaland does not touch the ball often but when he does it’s usually in the dangerous areas. Block his runs and stop his supply.
After Norway it’s Georgia at Hampden, a game probably, unlike Norway, all the fans will expect them to win. Full concentration and not taking things for granted will be the key.

Largs Thistle have drawn Wishaw in the first round of the West of Scotland Cup.
Should they win that one they play either Johnstone Burgh or Knightswood. Could be a quick return to Barrfields for Jamie McGowan.
Well the plans for the Conference League being put in place at Tier 5 which is above the Lowland League have been binned for present. A number of clubs including Aberdeen, Morton, Partick Thistle, Kelty Hearts, Stranraer, Falkirk, all came out overwhelmingly against the proposal. How the proposal got to the stage of having the clubs vote on it when it rejected by so many clubs and fans shows me how detached the SFA are the are from the clubs and fans.

So Ange has left for Spurs. He was always going to leave at sometime. Managers or players - unless they come from Scotland - will leave if a better offer, be financial or for football reasons, comes along. Scotland is just a stepping stone. He has a hard job turning Spurs into a trophy winning team. Man City did it, they won the Champions League. Under Pep they have been trying for sometime but now they have got to the top in Europe. The harder thing now is to retain it. Can they? Would you bet against them? What star will they sign in the summer?
Congratulations to Davie Moyes, the seventh Scottish manager to win a European trophy.

Largs Thistle 35s, sponsored by Cullis Amusements, were involved in another high scoring game this time against Stewarton.
It was a 8 - 5 defeat though. The team are at home this Friday night at Inverclyde against Galston.
