Passports were not required as the nursery tots made the short hop over to Cumbrae on the ferry before getting the Millport bus into town and enjoyed a day by the seaside and, of course, some ice cream courtesy of The Ritz.

A Douglas Park spokesperson said: "A fantastic day was had by all. There was sandcastle building, shell and sea glass hunting, long walks, a couple of exciting ferry journeys and best of all - ice cream.
"The children were an absolute credit to the nursery, a special thank you to the Ritz Cafe for our delicious ice cream.

"Thank you to our parent helpers for joining us on our trip, we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did."
And of course, no day to Millport was complete, without a visit to the Crocodile Rock to pose as generations of kids have down the decades.
