A fascinating afternoon was in store for Cumbrae Primary pupils as they learnt all about the duties of the island coastguard at school.
Cumbrae Coastguard Rescue Team recently visited the school - and showed a demontration exercise - while children found out more about the importance of lifejacket safety aids when on the water - and the importance of safety first.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "Our budding Coasties from P1 and P2 learned all about the role of HM Coastguard, the equipment we carry and how we use it, including becoming throwline rescue experts.
"Thanks again to Cumbrae Primary for a great afternoon."
