An appeal for information about John Murdo McLeod MacDonald. RAF Flight Sergeant in World War Two, who hails from Millport.
Dear sir,
I wonder if, via your readership, I could further my research into the above airman, who hailed from Millport.
In January 1939, John MacDonald survived a flying accident near my home in South Wales while training to be a radio operator/navigator with the RAF.
Sadly, in 1941 he was lost on operations with the air force and is today remembered on the RAF’s Runnymede Memorial near Windsor, London. I believe he is also commemorated locally on the Millport cenotaph.
With a view of finding out more about Flight Sergeant MacDonald, I’d be grateful if anyone who knew his family to contact me.
Thank you for your anticipated help.
Sincerely,
Steven H. Jones,
