MARKS and Spencer has issued an update on plans for opening a new foodhall in Largs.
The store, which is expected to create 50 jobs upon completion, was originally expected to open this summer, though the company later revised that to December.
The firm now says the facility - which is expected to create 50 new jobs in the town - will not open until next year.
When questioned by the News, a spokesperson for M&S confirmed that the foodhall is now due to open in spring of 2024.
They said: “We’re excited to be bringing M&S to Largs. Our brand new foodhall is due to open in spring 2024 and we can’t wait for our local customers to experience it for themselves.
"Our store will be packed with a fantastic range of M&S food so whether you’re dropping by for daily essentials or looking for a big family shop, we’ll have you covered.
"We’re also planning new features including an in-store bakery and a digital click and collect service for easy access to clothing and home favourites.”
The foodhall is being built on the site of the former Pearson's garage, which has been demolished in recent months.
