Praise has been heaped on the new-look Mackerston Putting Green which has re-opened this summer under a new operator.
The popular Largs facility has re-opened for the first time in three years after finding a new tenant.
A 'temporary occupation licence' for the green has been offered to the successful bidder - a Mr Auld, trading as AEAE Limited - for the period from June 26 to September 30.
Speaking at last night's Largs Community Council meeting, Councillor Tom Marshall said: "I managed to get Mackerston Putting Green back into action.
"I hope you will all go and use it - there is a new operator and it would be good if he could develop the whole scene as they have done at Barrfields Putting Green."
Earlier this year, concerns were raised by Cllr Marshall that the much loved putting green, which has been operated since the 1920s, might never re-open and urged the council to step up moves to find a new operator.
And the putting green has proved a hit during the summer holidays.
Mr Auld told the News: "It’s a sunny funday Friday and perfect putting conditions.
"The green has never looked so good so a big thanks to Peter and his landscaping team at North Ayrshire Council. Lovely lines.
"Also congratulations to young man who got a miraculous hole in 1 at the epic 14th. A future golf star!"
