AN UPDATED version of the biography of Sir Thomas Brisbane has been released in time for the 250th anniversary of his birth this weekend.
Valerie Campbell's book, We Will Not Forget, looks at the history of the Brisbane family and their connections to Largs as well as the life story of the decorated soldier, astronomer and governor of New South Wales.
A spokesperson for the Largs and District Historical Society said: "If you’d like some insight into the amazing world of the Brisbane family, then this 66-page booklet is the one for you.
"The book, which is based on years of research, is available from the museum for £10, and Valerie will donate some of the proceeds towards keeping our wee museum alive.
"This is a fine gesture of which Sir Thomas would undoubtedly have approved."
It is also hoped that a copy of the book will be go to the Brisbane City Council chambers in Australia, to complement the original door from Sir Thomas's home, Brisbane House, which is on display there.
