Largs: Morrisons worker's 25 years' service celebrated

Euan Fisher, 54, who works at Morrisons in Largs, is a friendly face who welcomes customers to the Irvine Road store.

Customers have praised his pleasant demeanour and friendly personality, describing it as "a tonic when you meet Euan in the car park or store".

And Euan's endeavours over the past quarter of a century saw local customers and businesses around the town raise funds for a present for him on Saturday to mark the anniversary, and to thank him for his sterling work over the years.

Well known Largs fundraiser Janet Muir went round local shops and helped raise funds with customers to give a present to Euan.

She said: "We are all so grateful to Euan - he always gives you a warm welcome when you go into the shop, and everybody likes him. He is such a popular person - and I thought it would be nice if he could be recognised in this way. It was great to do the presentation for Euan on Saturday and he was so pleased. He is a real character and such a nice guy. His family should be very proud of him.

"Largs is a small town and everyone who uses Morrisons knows Euan to say hello to. It was lovely to hear his wee speech of thanks.

"I went around the local shops with a bucket to raise the funds, and I would like to thank everyone who donated. You all played a part in making Euan's day special. The card was full of signatures of thanks. He was so excited and happy to read it and it really put a big smile on his face.

"Euan is priceless. For all of the 25 years this year that he has been working in Largs he has always given shoppers a warm welcome when they enter the store."
