Channel Four will be filming the Largs Viking Festival this year, as the popular Norse showcase gets nationwide coverage.
Festival chairman Douglas Blair says it is an exciting development for the eight-day event, which runs this year from September 2-10, and has, in the past, featured in The Guardian's top 20 great traditional festivals in Europe, and promises great fun for all the family.
Douglas said: "Channel 4 productions has asked Largs Viking Festival Committee - and we have agreed - for a film team to visit the Largs Viking Festival in September.
"This is part of a new television programme which they are producing and will be streamed on Channel 4.
"Further details will be issued soon by Channel 4 productions."
The festival is eagerly anticipated with opening parade and ceremony, live entertainment, fringe events, food and craft market, workshops, a full Viking and Scots village, Viking Long Boat, and the ever popular Festival of Fire, with fire procession.
There is also the Viking skirmish, burning of the long boat, entertainment, and ending in a fabulous firework display.
Entry to the Viking Village and Festival of Fire can be pre-booked online or on the day.
The Viking Longboat experience circling Largs Bay - or a one hour trip from Cumbrae - can only be booked online.
