There has been continuing congestion in Largs town centre over recent days - with a Largs councillor expressing frustration at the situation.
Ferry issues have resulted in long queues backed up to Charles Street from the ferry terminal this morning, August 10 - while Largs town centre has regularly had long queues.
The News also witnessed a car zooming out of Aitken Street roundabout in front of a bus which had to slam on tbe brakes - as drivers were taking 'unaccountable' risks due to the congestion.
Ian Murdoch told the News that he witnessed the aftermath of a car smash nearby the Brisbane Centre on Thursday.
Cllr Murdoch said: "It is getting beyond a joke. There is congestion throughout Largs town centre - and there is traffic backing up all the way to Charles Street because of the ferry traffic.
"I am not sure specifically what the cause is of the traffic queues in the Main Street but it is really concerning - the traffic plan for the town doesn't seem to be working. It is a mess.
"It is just a typical Thursday morning in the summer in Largs - however, the traffic is mobbed.
"Something needs to be done to address this as clearly something is not working."
In relation to the ferry traffic, a Cal Mac spokesperson said: " The technical issue has been resolved and normal two vessel service has now resumed.
"Please be advised, the current wait time for vehicles to board at Largs is two hours."
