Glorious sunshine and big crowds greeted the much anticipated arrival of the Largs Viking Festival on Saturday.
Throngs of people gathered in the Main Street and along the seafront to capture a view of the impressive and colourful parade which had a real carnival atmosphere.
The spectacle featured impressive floats with members of community groups, organisations - and of course Scandinavian warriors of yore - taking part.
There is plenty still to come, including a dual Spitfire display over both this Saturday and Sunday, with a provisional time of 1pm, and the spectacular battle re-enactment, burning of the longboat and fireworks display, taking place on Saturday evening on Largs seafront.
Those taking part included the Largs Boys Brigade Pipe Band, Vikings (including a the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, vintage tractors, Thorne Travel, Ayrshire Classic Cars, Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band, HM Coastguard, St Mary's Primary, Largs Primary, Largs Girls Brigade, the Heritage Trust Fire Brigade, Largs Youth Theatre, the RNLI, Largs Thistle FC, Glasgow Moggies - and of course Viking invaders and their Scottish opponents as far as the eye could see.
Largs Community Resilience Team are also in attendance throughout the festival to support the event.
