A PUTTING green in Largs is giving away a free offer to play a round on their green during this week.
Mackerston Putting Green have put a message up on their Facebook page, which states the following:
"The Vikings have returned...and they are very welcome to try putting as long as they can control their infamous tempers.
"So FREE PUTTING FOR GENUINE VIKINGS all week of the Largs Viking Festival. But no axe throwing on the green please."
The festival runs until September 10.
The popular Largs facility re-opened for the first time in three years after finding a new tenant, earlier this summer.
North Ayrshire Council confirmed in June that a 'temporary occupation licence' for the green has been offered to the successful bidder - a Mr Auld, trading as AEAE Limited - for the period from June 26 to September 30.
Earlier this year, concerns were raised that the much loved putting green, which has been operated since the 1920s, might never re-open as the council were urged to step up moves to find a new operator - and now Vikings can head along for a free shot.
