MORE than £1,000 has been raised to help preserve a much-loved Ayrshire castle at a charity event.
The Fencebay Band led the entertainment at Fencebay Farm to bring in cash for the Friends of Portencross Castle.
A spokesperson for the band thanked everyone who came along on the evening and said it was a great turn out. and lovely to see the dance floor so busy all night.
Band members come from a variety of professions and enjoy playing a wide range of music from contemporary to classic hits.
Friends of Portencross Castle is a charitable company formed with the goal of protecting the future of Portencross Castle in the best interests of the public.
The local residents who founded the company set out to give the castle new life by repairing it so as to protect it from the elements.
Having done so, their hope is that future generations can continue to enjoy both the castle and its beautiful and serene surroundings.
