Ayrshire Hospice charity shops have urged customers not to leave donated goods outside their premises overnight.

A warning poster has gone up in its charity shops.

It reads: "We kindly ask our donors NOT to leave donations outsie the store when the store is closed.

"Donations outside the store poses a fire risk and as they are being left on a public highway/walkway it also constitutes fly tipping and could be subject to fines from the local council. CCTV is in operation.

"Thank you for your consideration in this matter."
