A popular Largs hairdressing salon, which offers Prosecco and a lavish welcome to its clients, has added further sparkle and fizz to its offering by scooping a national award.
The Boutique Hair Spa is spearheaded by owner Grace Bowman, who has praised the hard work and commitment of her staff for the special recognition.
Grace also thanked all their clients for voting for them and giving them the ultimate seal of approval.
The town centre premises proved to be a cut above after it won Scotland's salon of the year in the Hair and Beauty awards held at a glitzy awards bash in Birmingham, attended by hopefuls from up and down the country.
A delighted Grace told the News it was a fantastic experience and she was delighted to receive the top billing.
She said: "We are proud winners of Scotland’s colour salon of the year. Big up to the team and for all who voted for us, we are truly humbled.
"It really was a terrific night with six of the staff heading down including myself and it was the best night and we had such good fun.
"It is also good to see the results of all the training that we have done and how the girls have flourished - it has been a superb team effort, and we have a wonderful clientele base.
"All the girls have worked really hard and we are doing training all the time and it is a big commitment."
Asked for the key to the success, Grace said: "It is without a doubt positive thinking, and continual personal and professional development.
"We take on really nice people with good attitudes and we always make sure all our customers receive a great welcome with Prosecco to start, or a hot chocolate, or even a coffee or decaf - it is all about providing a really positive experience for everyone who visits us - and encouraging a positive and upbeat approach in everything we do."
And proving that good business sense is timeless, Grace even has the benefits of the wisdom and experience of a wonderful friend and helper.
She said: "We have 12 staff altogether aged from 19 to 80! Lorna who works with us turns 80 this week - and she is amazing, from meeting and greeting to scrubbing, and she loves being with all the younger ones.
"All the girls have tremendous respect for her and love to listen to her stories and anecdotes, and everyone has set space aside in their diary to attend her big 80th birthday bash on Saturday night."
Grace added that first class products are used at the multi-award winning Boutique Hair Spa. She said: "We use Redken products, the leading professional salon haircare brand, and we are premier partners of GHD as well.
Good Hair Day, abbreviated to GHD, is a manufacturer of hair care products based in Leeds, United Kingdom. This company is known for its hair straightening irons and is sold in over 50,000 salons worldwide, and was the first hair tool sponsor of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
