Proposals for a new access ramp at the lifeboat station in Largs have been given the green light.
We told last month how the RNLI was seeking permission for a new dedicated ramp at the head of the beach to allow the lifeboat safe access to and from the water at low tide.
The lifeboat is currently launched from the North Ayrshire Council slipway, next to the lifeboat station, using a tractor and a trailer.

This means a short reinforced concrete structure with compacted stone infill will be built.
When the organisation submitted their application in October, they stated that the current state of the slipway makes it unsuitable for use at low water.
North Ayrshire Council officials have approved the application, saying that it complies with the relevant provisions of the local development plan and that there are no material considerations that would justify refusal..
Largs RNLI have been approached for comment.
