Yuletide Night is set to return to Largs in December and organisers say it will be a fantastic night with late night shopping, festive sing-a-longs, and of course a visit from Santa Claus.
On Wednesday December 6, local volunteers will turn the town into a winter wonderland with children's rides, live music and street entertainment which are all free of charge.
The event kicks off with Santa's parade leaving Kwik Fit between 6pm and 6.15pm.
The parade will be led by Santa in his sleigh, Largs BB Pipe Band, and various local organisations and individuals.
The procession will travel down the Main Street, towards Greenock Road, and Santa will set up shop in his grotto, which is being hosted by Nardini’s of Largs.
Ten Per Cent Carpets have generously donated the selection packs which Santa will be giving out at the Grotto. Tickets will be available from Westcoast Cakes, Tea in the Square and Little Threads.
There will be 10 full size mascots in the town on the evening. Entry forms for the Largs Yuletide Mascot Treasure Hunt will be available from the businesses who are generously sponsoring the competition where the mascots will be located: Bus Stop Toy Shop, Eat Cycling, A.D. Paton’s Largs Oaks Vets, Treasured, Eyeglass Opticians, Moorings Knitwear and Countrywear, Thorne Travel and The Fishworks.
Gallowgate Square will be host to a children's ride, live music and the ever-popular Mr B. Loon, Balloon Artist, who this year is being kindly sponsored by Pearson's of Wemyss Bay.
Largs BB Pipe Band will be playing in the Pierhead area.
Brisbane Evangelical Church Choir, Largs Colts and Clyde Coast & Cumbrae’s Men's Shed will all be found in the Main Street, as well Santa’s Sleigh for any photo opportunities.
Largs Fire Brigade will be at the bottom of Tron Place as will the West Wednesday Evening Singers.
There will be a children's ride next to A D Paton's in Aitken Street and also the Starlite Stage outside Superdrug
The current line-up for the stage is as follows: St Mary’s Choir 6.15pm until 6.30pm, Largs Primary Choir 6.30pm until 7pm, Karen Aitchison Dancers 7pm until 7.30pm and live music from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. These times will be delayed if the start time of the parade is after 6pm.
Largs Events always aim to provide a socially inclusive yuletide event. Street activities, provided by Largs Events, are free of charge and are enabled to be so by sponsorship and donations from local businesses and individuals, for which we are extremely grateful.
Largs Events committee would like to thank everyone who has donated to Largs Yuletide Night and the four evenings of the Santa Sleigh Rides.
Those in attendance are advised to wrap up warm.
Largs Events are also involved in Santa's Sleigh Tours across the local communities.
Santa's Sleigh will be towed again this year by his Elf Robert Butcher.
Robert is a long serving North Ayrshire Council employee and has driven Santa on every one of his tours. Robert gives up a considerable amount of time decorating his vehicle and the Sleigh.
Eric Head, who also works for NAC, gives up a lot of his time to make sure the sleigh is fully decorated, has working lights and sound.
Largs Events would like to thank them both for their efforts every Christmas. Santa's sleigh ride tour is as follows:
