West Kilbride is gearing up for its big late night festive shopping spectacle this week - with lots of events happening and fun for all the family.
The village's Yuletide festivities, on Friday, December 1, start at the railway station car park at approximately 5.30pm, with a display from The Dance Depot, followed by Santa's Parade at 6pm, heading up through the Main Street and Ritchie Street to the village hall.
Santa's Grotto slots start at 6.20pm at the village hall.
The organisers say the grotto is a ticketed event and are asking those with tickets to stick to their allocated time slot.
Tickets are available by phoning 01294 829590.
At 7pm there's a Christmas movie at West Kilbride Community Centre, where there will also be face painting, arts and crafts, and table tennis.
The Barony Centre and Cafe will be open from 6pm, with craft activities upstairs, and a gin bar run by The Inventor's Gin Company will be in operation at the cafe.
West Kilbride Library will be open from 6pm too, and will host a performance by the village's ukulele group.
The library will be running more children's activities and the ukulele band will be playing - open from 6pm.
West Kilbride Parish Church has the return of the 'Escape Room' from 6pm, while Yuletide market stalls will be up and running in Glen Road from 5.30pm.
The Woodland Wakeup Yuletide Bonfire starts at 6.15pm on the grassy area opposite the Spar on Orchard Street.
Drivers and residents are being asked to note that Main Street, Ritchie Street and Orchard Street will be closed from approximately 4pm to allow for the setting up of the festivities.
Car parking facilities will be available at the Community Centre on Corse Street, but parking at The Kings and at Glen Road/Orchard Street will not be available for safety reasons and because of the nearby road closure.
Some parking will be available in the streets close to Main Street.
Buses through the village will be diverted because of the road closures, but stops will still be available close to the village centre.
Among the businesses who will be open late with discounts and other special festive offers are Helen Armstrong Professional Hair Care, Urquhart Opticians, Couture Hair and Tis The Season, while Timberbooks will have a stall at the village hall.
There's live musical entertainment too, with The Figiro Trio playing at the Dunes Bar at Seamill House Hotel from 8pm, and The Mix at The Twa Dugs from 9pm.
A West Kilbride Yuletide spokesperson said: "Please wrap up warm. Fingers crossed for a dry evening but it is certainly going to be cold.
"We are looking forward to seeing you all there."
