Heavy flooding has been reported on the A78 at Largs Yacht Haven as heavy rain hits the Ayrshire coastline.
Amey is now on site and may reinstate temporary traffic lights on the trunk road with water across the road.
Councillor Ian Murdoch said: "Amey are on site and might have to put the temporary lights back. I had to report the broken pump twice last weekend.
"I am pursuing a permanent solution with Amey."
Flooding has also been reported in on Brisbane Road and Seamore Street in the town.
