The Largs Film Society has unveiled details of its first movie of the new year.
Kenneth Branagh's 'Belfast' will be shown in the Valhalladrome theatre at the Vikingar! centre.
Set in August 1969, in a city surrounded by sporadic violence and growing danger, nine-year-old Buddy finds himself confronted with the ugly reality of sectarian conflict as he tries his best to understand The Troubles.
The film reflects on Branagh's own upbringing in Northern Ireland, and stars Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan and Ciaran Hinds.
The LFS screening of Belfast takes place on Friday, January 12 at 7pm.
It is one of a wide selection of films is being shown every three weeks from January to May.
Other films in the second half of the 2023-24 programme - which features works from the UK, US, France and Australia - include La Grande Illusion, Nomadland and Bad Day At Black Rock.
