Extensive works are underway at the Brisbane House Hotel as it readies itself for a spring 2024 opening - with a long-awaited new honeymoon suite set to be unveiled.
The building, which has been closed since Saturday, October 28, is set to reopen on Friday, March 1.
The major refurbishment has seen the front car parking area being dug up outside the hotel, which will also serve as a venue for private events and functions.
A spokesperson for Brisbane House Hotel said: "We are thrilled that our reopening will include the unveiling of our new Honeymoon Suite.
"Our future wedding couples will enjoy luxury and relaxation at the end of their big day. The lower level features a super king-sized bed, a pop-up TV, and a dressing area.
"The upper level, reached by a spiral staircase, offers a spa-like experience complete with a whirlpool bath, steam shower, private bar, and day bed.
"All topped off with a balcony overlooking the Clyde, adding a touch of scenic beauty to the overall experience."
In a message to customers earlier this year, a spokesperson for the Manorview Group, which runs the hotel, said: "After much consideration, we’ve decided to focus on delivering weddings, private functions and events, and hotel breaks. We feel we have much to offer in these areas, and we love to help people from Largs and beyond celebrate life’s many moments.
"That said, the restaurant and bar will no longer be open to the public. This has been a difficult decision. But we know our many neighbouring cafes, bars, and restaurants will continue to offer the people of Largs fabulous places to eat and drink. We will continue to attract visitors to our hotel to help support those businesses too.
"We will be available for private dining, parties, events, gatherings, and funerals. And we will share more information on that when we re-open."
