We are taking a look back at the famous Christmas display at the back of Nardini's Restaurant in Largs.
The unveiling of the display was always a sure sign that Santa was on his way, with people travelling far and wide to see it.
Meticulous planning went into the popular event, which was one of the highlights of the festive shopping circuit in Largs for decades.
The tradition spanned from the 1960s all the way to the 1990s.
Maria Pia Nardini, who has returned to live in Barga, worked in the world-famous Nardini's Restaurant for many years, launching the famous Christmas display which is so fondly remembered.
It was then taken over by Grazia Nardini, who also helped source festival delights from Italy that were impossible to get anywhere else.
Former Nardini director Roby Nardini, pictured, said the display was one of the best of its kind in the UK.
It always attracted droves of Christmas shoppers when the cafe and restaurant was originally owned by the Nardini family and it was an outstanding success.
