Millport had the highest rainfall figures in Scotland yesterday as Cumbrae felt the full impact of Storm Gerrit.
The Met Office has issued the rainfall statistics for the UK on December 27, with Millport recording a rainfall of 58mm.
Mickleden in Cumbria experienced the most rainfall, with 80mm, followed by Thirlmere, also in Cumbria, with 68mm.
Firefighters in Millport battled "unprecedented" flooding for six hours, while residents rallied round to provide sandbags as businesses, including the Ritz Cafe and Cumbrae Pharmacy, were hit by flood water - as were a number of seafront homes.
Cumbrae Community Council thanked the members of the Cumbrae Resilience Team, the emergency services and the volunteer sand-diggers for their swift responses.
