A much-loved cafe in Largs town centre has permanently closed "due to unsustainable rising costs."
A notice announcing Café Renard's closure was put on its door on the morning of Monday, January 8 informing the public that the business has ceased trading.
The notice (pictured below) stated that the closure was put in place with immediate effect due to rising costs.
It states: "Due to unsustainable rising costs, Cafe Renard will reluctantly cease trading with immediate effect.
"Thanks to all our loyal customers who have supported us during the last few difficult years. Please continue to support your local business."
We previously reported how the cafe in Tron Place was closed for 42 weeks during 2020 and used the time to carry out £50,000 worth of refurbishment works to transform the business.
