A meteor lit up the night sky in Millport at the weekend - and a popular local business managed to capture the moment on its webcam.
After reports surfaced on local social media pages of a burning light in the sky, the News contacted Mapes of Millport, who checked back their footage and broadcast their video footage.
The bike and toy shop's 24-hour camera recorded stunning footage of the meteor fizzing over the hills of Hunterston and West Kilbride at 5.29pm on Sunday.
A post on its Facebook page stated: "Mapes of Millport Webcam just snagged a meteorite blazing through the night sky. Join the celestial thrill and share the cosmic excitement!"
While there were no national reports of the meteor, some local social media pages highlighted the amazing sight just after it happened.
It is now a hat-trick for Mapes of Millport, who are sponsors of Largs Thistle, in capturing a great ball of fire in the sky after similar incidents were filmed in March 2021 and September 2022.
